Vaughn Waters joined Harvard Library and Harvard College Library in September 2018 as Director of Administration and Finance. Vaughn is responsible for advancing the key financial, operational and administrative goals of the Harvard Library (HL), Harvard College Library (HCL), and member libraries affiliated with the Faculty of Arts and Sciences (FAS). As a member of the Library’s Senior Management Team and the Library Leadership Team, the Vaughn works across the community of libraries at Harvard, including the FAS library organization, to create cohesive and effective processes, programs and tools to support both organizations and facilitate collaboration.

Vaughn holds a MS in Human Resources Development from McDaniel College, and a BS in Political Science from Towson University. Most recently he has served as managing director, administration, Harvard College Admissions and Financial Aid. Vaughn also served as director of administration for Faculty of Arts and Sciences Information Technology. Vaughn joined Harvard in 2005 as administrator for the W.E.B. DuBois Institute for African and African American Research. Prior to moving to Cambridge, Vaughn held several posts of increasing responsibility in Maryland at Princeton Review, Baltimore City Community College, the University of Maryland, and Towson University. Vaughn has been a Harvard Hero, the recipient of the Dean’s Distinction Award, and was a W. E. DuBois awardee in 2006.
